Lock case EL588

EL588 is a SCAND standard handle controlled singlepoint lock for solid doors. Handle controlled locks are best suited in medium traffic doors. The locks can be electrically controlled by access or remote-control systems. Handle controlled locks offer great solutions to medium traffic doors where EAC is needed.

Handle controlled locks can be set to function as fail locked or as fail unlocked. In the fail locked setting, the lock can be opened by handle when power is on and cannot be opened by handle when power is off. In the fail unlocked setting, the electrical function is reversed.

Handle controlled doors are typically used in interior doors of offices, storages or maintenance rooms. Handle controlled locks cannot be used with door automatics.

This product uses HiO technology which enhances the security of the lock. HiO is an Assa Abloy standard which connects electronic door components together over controller area network (CAN bus). This allows multiple benefits such as synchronization, monitoring and diagnostics. HiO products require an ARX system to provide the network (CAN bus).

Both sides of the product are electrically controlled making it unsuitable for exit certified (EN179/EN1125) doors.
